bit.ly/22tlconsessionevalCritical to an abolitionist teaching framework is the inclusion of students in the creation of the learning space. Online Learning Assistants (OLAs) regularly provide support to instructors teaching Flex or Online Synchronous courses. Through managing key Zoom functions in every class session, OLAs enhance the teaching and learning experience for both faculty and students. Moderated by a former OLA and current CTL staff member, this panel will engage in a conversation about the intersections between their role as OLAs, their position as students, and the framework of abolitionist teaching. By offering the unique perspective of being a student and an employee of CTL, this panel brings attention to the knowledge and ideas that students bring to their learning environments, as well as the types of support that OLAs can offer to faculty. This panel will conclude with an audience Q&A.
