Flipgrid: An asynchronous video platform to support social learning
Joe Olivier
Flipgrid is an asynchronous video platform that allows every student to share their voice with one another. It is an easy-to-use tool that supports social learning across modalities. In addition to highlighting its key features, I will also share a few ways instructors might engage students with it.

It is time to focus on values and not only on skills-based learning for human development
Zoaib Mirza
The current educational system focuses on training students to learn skills to get a job. Although this is an important goal of an educational system, but due to the current social, political, and economic conditions, it is imperative that students also learn values that help them be valuable at their employment and also how they contribute to society. We have become a nation of individualists than collectivists. We need to change the curriculum to ensure that all courses have a component of values like emotional intelligence, empathy, justice, heart, teamwork, collaboration, working under pressure, ethics, and more that students learn, which are more important now for hiring managers and for our nation to be successful. That is why companies like Tesla, Apple, and Google hire colleagues with no college degrees to be trained within the company culture.
